ABOUT THE BOARD
Mandate
To protect the public by regulating and guiding the occupations of Dentistry, Dental Assisting, and Dental Technicians.
Objectives
  1. To regulate the practices of these dental related occupations with governance in accordance with the Dental Act and its Regulations.

  2. To develop, establish, and maintain standards of qualification for persons to be issued Certificate of Registration.

  3. To develop, establish, and maintain programs and standards of practice to assure the quality of practice of registrants.

  4. To develop, establish, and maintain standards of knowledge and skill and programs to promote continuing competence among registrants.

  5. To develop, establish, and maintain standards of professional ethics for registrants.

  6. To develop, establish, and maintain programs to assist registrants to exercise their rights under the Dental Act and its Regulations.

  7. To administer the Dental Act and its Regulations as it relates to the registrants and the public and to perform the other duties and exercise the other powers that are imposed or conferred on the Board.

  8. Any other objectives relating to human health care that the Board considers desirable.
